Ekiti United record another win in pre-season friendly

The city of Ikere-Ekiti on Wednesday, played host to a team from Osun state that came visiting Ekiti United fc for a friendly match ahead of the January 30 kick off of the Nigeria National football league-NNL.
The match was decided at the football pitch of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti which is the temporary home ground of Ekiti United.
It started on a high note with the visitors known as Kings Sport football Academy hoping to surprise Ekiti United having heard about how the Ekiti owned team went to Ogbomoso to beat Crown fc at home in a recent friendly match .
The visitors conceded the first goal when Jamiu Onikoko of Ekiti United open the score sheet within 20 minutes of play.
The host team, Ekiti United was caught unawares and conceded a a goal soon afterwards as the visitors equalized.
Ekiti United immediately came back stronger with another goal from same player,Jamiu Onikoko to make it 2-1 while the third goal was scored at the stroke of half time.
On resumption for the second half, home boy, Kehinde Olajuyin fired home his own first goal of the day and the fourth goal for Ekiti United about 15 minutes into the second half.
One of the new legs being tested by coach Ayodeji Ayeni known as Kamoru Adebari did well for himself and the team by scoring two goals in quick succession with three minutes interval.
The match ended 5-1 as Ekiti United consolidated on the recent famous away victory over Crown fc of Ogbomoso.
Ekiti United team manager,Babatola Olushola said the team will tomorrow (Thursday) be involved in another friendly against Kwara state football Academy which recently played 3-3 with Crown fc in a friendly that followed the one against Ekiti United.
Benbela as he’s popularly known said the Kwara state football Academy side was no mean team by any standard as the players were thorns in the flesh of Crown fc in their recent match.
Ekiti United coach,Ayodeji Ayeni affirmed that tomorrow’s match will be tough as the visiting Kwara state football Academy almost dislodge Crown fc saying it took a late penalty for Crown to secure an equalizer in their friendly, hence Ekiti United players should expect a tough outing at the University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti sport pavilion.
