35th Annual Conference: Clergy tasks ECWA women fellowship on godly virtues

Christian women have been charged to imbibe godliness and shun practices of idol worship in view of occurrences signalling the end time.
The call was made on Friday, by the Guest Speaker at the 35th Annual Conference, ECWA Women Fellowship International, Zone (A) at ECWA Goodness Church GRA, Gombe.
The Guest Speaker, Rev. Nuhu Ahmed, who is also Assistant DCC Secretary, expressed dismay over attitude of Christians, especially women who combined serving God and worshipping of idols, practice of witchcraft, sorcery, and other forms of sins.
Ahmed also tasked them to denounce evil or face the wrath of God.
Taking his text from the book of Colossians chapter one verse 24-27, and other relevant verses, spoke on the theme, “Christ in you the hope of glory”.
While stressing that Christians can only hope in glory when Jesus Christ is in them, which can be seen through holy, and decent Christian living.
On her part, Women Fellowship Leader, Gombe DCC, Mrs Halima Caleb Maina, congratulated the women for the privilege to witness the 35th Annual Conference.
Maina called on the fellowship to make use of the opportunity by imbibing lessons of the conference for the good of their families, and cordial relationship with God.
She urged the women to be decent, and obey conference regulations by avoiding any act capable of disrupting the success of the conference and tarnishing the image of their families.
She said, “women should inculcate the habit of prudence in the midst of economic hardship Imposed on the society by Covid19 pandemic, as we pray God Almighty to end the devastating menace.”
Also speaking, the Gombe DCC Chairman, Rev. James Sumba Dangombe, said the excellence of a woman is her character, and character of a person is noted for honesty, ethics and charity.
He furher called on attendees to be steadfast in upholding godly virtues especially in this time of moral and spiritual decadence.
He congratulated the Women Fellowship for hosting of the 35th Annual Conference, praying God to make it very successful and hitch free.
In his speech which was read to the congregation by his Assistant, the Chairman called for prayers against social ills like; kidnapping, armed robbery, rape , etc that have bedeviled the nation and stagnated socio-economic progress across all sectors.
