Governor Fayemi’s Aide,Faparusi Sponsors Ten Athletes For First 2021 National Athletics Championship.
Ten athletes who went to Akure to represent Ekiti state at the just concluded AFN ALL COMERS TOURNAMENT have returned home.
Out of the 5 male athletes and 5 female athletes that were taken to the national athletics competition being the first held in 2021 , 2 females and 1 male were on the medals podium as they competed in 100 metres, 400 metres, 1,500 metres, 5,000 metres, 10,0000 metres, Shot Put and Discuss events.
The outstanding athletes included Aguda Blessing who came second in the final of the girls 100 meter final while Sehinde Favour also got the final of the female 5,000 metres while Ijoko Sunday was the only male that got to the final in the 10,000 metres.
According to coach Abudu Ojo , the athletes were sponsored to the athletics competition by Mr Bamidele Faparusi popularly known as Fappy who is the commissioner for infrastructure and public Utilities in Ekiti state as part of efforts to complement government’s efforts at exposing and encouraging athletes from the state .
