Gombe Govt ratifies 95.7 million naira for preparation, unveiling of development plan

Gombe State Government has ratified the sum of 68.5 million naira as amount for preparation of 10 year development plan document.
Commissioner for Information, Alhassan Kwami disclosed this on Wednesday, while briefing newsmen, after the 11th State Executive Council meeting, presided by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, held in the Government House.
Speaking alongside Commissioners for Finance, Muhammad Magaji, Works Abubakar Bappah, and Environment Dr. Hussaina Goje, Kwami also revealed that 27.2 million naira has been allotted for the unveiling ceremony of the plan.
“We have ratified about 68.5 million naira for preparation of that document that is the development plan. On the 16th of February we are going to unveil the plan in that regard about 27.2 million has been approved for the unveiling of the plan,” he said.
Explaining further the Commissioner for Finance, Magaji said the plan will help the state chart the course of development.
Finance Commissioner said, “That document is ready now, the draft will be unveiled on the 16th of February, Tuesday next week here in Gombe. The development plan will serve as a guide for government.
“Council approved that the document be transmitted to the state assembly for legislation, the reason behind that is to ensure the document becomes a working document. So that it outlive subsequent government such that after first and second tenure of this administration.
“This plan takes into consideration the Sustainable Development Goals which runs into 2030 and it has input from our medium term expenditure framework, which will guide us in ensuring we finance the development plan adequately. It involves provision of infrastructure, human capital development, health care for the citizens and education.
“It is all encompassing as there is no aspect of human life that the development plan doesn’t touch. It provides a guide in every aspect of our livelihood such that by 2030 we can say this is where we expect Gombe state to be.”
