Gombe SSG harps infrastructure as key to development

Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has described road infrastructure as catalyst to rural development.
He stated this when he received a delegation of Galdumaru Community in Bangunji District of Shongom Local Government Area.
According to Njodi this informed the bold decision of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to initiate 11-100 kilometers road construction across the eleven Local Government of the State, code named Network eleven hundred.
Njodi who emphatized with the Galdumaru Community over their life challenges explained that with access road the area will be open to massive development, adding that Commercial, Economic, Agricultural and Social activities will be enhanced.
He assured that given the fact that provision of roads remains one of the priorities of the Inuwa Yahaya led administration, effort will be made to ensure that Galdumaru Community is accessible by mordern road.
The SSG who commended the People of the community for their tireless effort to improve the road conecting the community with the rest of the world also lauded their unity of purpose in reaching out to Government.
The Gombe Scribe therefore encouraged them to always pursue the path of peaceful approach to their demands, while assuring them of government’s continued support he noted that the situation of the area is unacceptable in this milenium.
Also Speaking, Member representing Pero – Chonge in the State House of Assembly, Builder Markus Samuel Wina appealed to the state government to consider the community’s demand for road which he said will open the area for development.
In the same vein, Special Adviser to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Political Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Bello appreciated the People of Galdumaru community for presenting their problem to the right channel giving the disposition of the state Government to rural development.
Speaking earlier, the Acting District Head of Bangunji, Mr.Idi Garba appreciated the SSG for giving them the opportunity to present their age long problems, which includes; access road, Health facility, Schools, Security, among others.
On his part, The spokesman of the community, Dr. Kefas Jibir Gurama described the visit as historic in the life of Galdumaru community and expressed hope that their request should be given special attention by the people oriented Government of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Gurama who took time to narrate the ordeals of the people who lack virtually all forms of social aminities stressed that access road remains key to their growth and development.
He said with good road leading to the area other social aminities like Health Care, Education and indeed social life of the people will improve.
