Gombe State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Sarah Yepwa, said school feeding programme has increased school enrolment tremendously.
Yepwa stated this on Saturday, at the training of 87 independent monitors for the Integrated National Investment Programme, organised by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
She said the initiative has far reaching impact in the lives of school children, adding that the programme has solved three challenges namely; Health, Education and Nutrition.
The NOA Director said, “I want to appreciate Government for initiating these great programme, for those not aware we have series of them. They are supposed to help in transforming, impacting the society.
“School feeding programme has increased enrolment in schools, because of school feeding a lot of children have graduated. It has solved three things Health, Education, and Nutrition, I have seen and witnessed it.”
While calling on the 87 independent monitors to carry out their responsibilities dispassionately, Yepwa said the desired change starts with every individual.
She added, “Your level of monitoring will increase evaluation, it will provide the gaps, challenges and successes. Go by the rules of the programme, your work is to improve the programme so that many can benefit. Do the right thing, change begins with me.”
