Sobawa farmers engage Kaduna Govt in land dispute
Sobawa farmers on Monday, said it has engaged the Government of Kaduna State in court.
According to a press statement by Alhaji Adamu Maigizo of Sobawa Farmers the dispute is over land dispute.
Maigizo said the suit is NO. KDH/KAD/415/201, Kaduna high court NO.9 .
According to him, Abdulmumini Nasir AKA Sarkin Sobawa (Magaji), who was alleged to have intimidated Sobawa farmland owners on a daily basis, claims to have taken over the land ownership.
“We call on the general public to abstain from buying, selling or dealing with the disputed land for whatsoever reason unless they make enquiries from the kaduna state high court NO.9 located at NDA junction Kaduna state.
“There is pending court case against the farmland but the same former village head in collaboration with some officials of KADGIS formally known as Lands and Survey Kaduna state, disobeyed court orders inspite of been served with court services because they are aware of the court orders,” he said.
Maigizo added, “The court orders that no part of the disputed land should be dealt with; for whatsoever reason by both parties, by proxy or any agent on behalf of either party until the decision of the court is delivered.”
