Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has stated the reasons behind the sacking of Ahmed Gana (health), Alhassan Ibrahim (Information), Mela Nunghe (Special duties).
Yahaya made this disclosure, on Friday, during the swearing in of the newly screened commissioners which includes; Christopher Maisheru (Special Duties); Son of the deceased 15th Mai Tangale, Abubakar Aliyu Musa(Youth Development), Abdullahi Kwami (Housing and Urban Development), at the banquet hall of the Government House.

He explained that the sacking resulted from the need to consolidate on the mandate accorded him by residents of the state.
“The newly appointed commissioners came on board following the recent cabinet reshuffle and reassignment of some portfolios.
“The exercise was carried out in order to rejig and further consolidate on the mandate given to us by the good people of Gombe state,” he said.
While lauding the efforts of the past commissioners, for contributing their quota to the development of the state.
He further appreciated the state house of assembly for the speed in carrying out the screening, urging the latest commissioners to justify the confidence reposed on them.
He added that the people should continue to keep faith with government going by the dwindling oil revenue and scarce resources.
According to Yahaya, “let me use this opportunity to appreciate the house of assembly for the timely screening of the then nominees. We will continue to collaborate with the legislative arm in the development of our state.
“The dwindling oil price and Covid-19 has affected the state negatively but we shall continue to run a focused, transparent and accountable government. I urge the newly sworn in commissioners to steer the affairs of your ministries with the fear of God, using your wealth of experience.”
