Gombe SSG bags Kurutyaubem title from TIV worldwide

National Association of TIV Youth Peace Initiative World wide on Monday, honoured Gombe Secretary to State Government SSG Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, with J.S Tarkaa leadership Award of Excellence as, “Kurutyaubem” ( warrior of peace).

Confering the title on the SSG, National President of the Association, Tenaa Anakaa, said the award of excellence was based on the track record of the edudite scholar cum politician.
Anakaa revealed that the J. S Tarkaa leadership award is highly treasured and conferred to those with outstanding track record of hardwork, adding that Njodi has displayed that across the various facets he had served.

The award was presented to the recipient at the SSG conference room, Gombe State Government House.
He said, “The recipient (Prof. Ibrahim Njodi) has shown the world the essence of hardwork and excellence; cutting across his years’ as Vice chancellor of University of Maiduguri, and the development strides as Secretary of State Government of Gombe State.”

On his part, Prof. Njodi who was visibly impressed by the gesture, especially the distance the award travelled to distinguish him in Gombe State, added that he would not relent in well doing.
The SSG noted that he has always discharged his responsibility without recourse to immediate rewards, stressing that no one knows the other group watching.
He stressed that he would adore his outfit (attire and spear) as he continues to advocate for peace and unity.
He said, “I dedicate this award to the entire staff and people of the state without whom I wouldn’t have been singled out. They have been so wonderful and they have given me the cooperation that I deserve.
“If the TIV youths are watching, we can be sure Igbo and Yoruba youths are also watching. So, if they are watching we can not afford to relent, but ensure we do the best. On behalf of His Excellency, I want to appreciate you and for the vote of confidence in his administration. So it it only fair to encourage him to do more for the people.”
