Covid-19: NYSC fumigates Gombe orientation camp hostels

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has embarked on fumigation of hostels at their temporary orientation camp located in Amanda, Gombe state, on Saturday.

According to State Coordinator, Mrs Ada Imoni, this effort is in collaboration with Gombe State Environmental protection Agency (GOSEPA), to fumigate the camp ahead of the 2021 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course, scheduled for Tuesday 18th May,2021.
Represented by Camp Director, Mr Emmanuel Oibe, the coordinator said the fumigation became necessary in view of the existing Covid 19 Pandemic.

She added that her organization is committed to ensuring corps members well being, adding that there was need to follow the guidelines strictly as directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and NYSC Management.

“The welfare of Corps members and other camp participants is our priority. Covid-19 is still with us and we must not rest on our oars .
“The fumigation will also take care of reptiles and insects . It is pertinent to give Camp participants a condusive environment throughout the duration of the Orientation Course.”
