Gombe gets 1,700 corps members for batch A stream II

No fewer than 1,700 batch A stream II prospective corps members are expected to resume orientation activities at the temporary orientation camp, located in Amada, Gombe State.
In a press release made available to our correspondent on Sunday, by the state Head of press/ Public Relations Officer of National Youth Service Corps Dakama Margaret Iliya, the camp participants must comply with Covid-19 protocol.
Iliya noted that the camping activities would start from Tuesday 18th May to Monday June 7th 2021, while encouraging drivers to extend courtesies to the members, the statement added that the partnership with Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) would ensure safe arrival of each of the 1,700 deployed to the state.
The statement partly stated, “One thousand seven hundred prospective corps members are expected to report for the orientation exercise at NYSC temporary camp Science Technical College, Amada.
“Please note, camp participants must adhere strictly to Covid-19 protocols put in place at the orientation camp and ensure proper and regular use of facemask.
“As part of measures to eliminate cases of road traffic injuries and loss of life among prospective corps members and serving corps members, the Director General of NYSC Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has reached an understanding with Federal Road Safety Corps and Executives of Road Transport Unions to monitor and guide prospective corps members to parks when travelling.”
Iliya added, “Management has observed the growing trend of defacement of the NYSC uniform and improper dressing by corps members.In view of that prospective corps members are advised not to deface the NYSC uniform either by slim fitting, use of rubber band at the hem of the khaki trouser or cutting it to three quarter.”
