Women across two Local Government Areas of Gombe State comprising; Yalmatu Deba and Akko have threatened to sue the member representing Gombe Central senatorial district, Danjuma Goje, if he refused to re-contest his seat at the red chamber.

Speaking on Thursday, during a sallah visit to the wife of the senator, Hajiya Aishatu Goje, group said they were not tired of his representation.
According to Rose Danjuma, Zonal Women Leader Gombe South, Goje has exemplified selflessness, and love for his people over the years.
Danjuma revealed that the lawmaker has empowered both women, and youth with skills, employment and resources to be useful to themselves.
Recall that Goje, had in December 2019, while distributing empowerment items to constituents, said he would not contest again in the future. This women group is second of such organizations, urging the former governor, now lawmaker to throw his hat in the ring.
She said, “Senator Danjuma Goje is the only person who can help us; that is why we are telling him to come back. We want Goje to pick the ticket to the Senate for the fourth time. We need him, he is the only one who can help us in Yalmatu Deba and Akko LGA’s we don’t have another person who can help us.
“Like now when you are seated you will just see alert ranging from N150,000, N200,000, N50,000, N20,000 as support for skill acquisition. Within 3- 6 months they usually call women to take capital for business sometimes for N1,000,000, N2,000,000 all for the sake of businesses. He is not going anywhere.
“So, the need for the clamour for him to come back, that is why we have mobilized in our various groups to ensure that he comes back. If he fails to heed to our call, we will carry him to court because he is the only one that we want. We have commenced processes to challenge him in court.”
When asked why they would threaten someone (politician) whose right it is to contest or not, the group argued that it is no longer his right.
“It is not his right to say whether or not he will not contest, it is people’s right. We were the people who sent him and we still need him back in the Senate,” Danjuma said.

In a chat with newsmen shortly after the women’s meeting, Commissioner for Environment in Gombe State, Husaina Goje, said the women were there to congratulate the former governor.
She said, “They came here to congratulate his excellency, my father, distinguished senator Danjuma Goje and his wife Aminatu Dahiru, on barka da sallah which is a joyous occasion for everyone.”
