No fewer than 5,067 people have so far registered, applied in the ongoing online Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Gombe State.
According to a weekly update made available by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which was obtained by our correspondent, the number include fresh registrants.
Speaking on Friday, in a chat with our correspondent Public Relations Officer of INEC in the state, Mohorret Bigun, hinted that by Monday the state would commence an offline registration, while urging members of the public not to give up on the online process.
He revealed that that the online registration enhances the entire process, as it makes the exercise easier.
He said, “By Monday, we should start the physical Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) the physical capture biometrics. But we advice people to use the online, once you do the online registration the entire process will be very easy.”
While commenting on the ongoing exercise Bigun, expressed satisfaction with the process, adding that they don’t access the statistics from the state office, as they were not directly in charge of the server.
“We don’t access it here (state office), since we are not in charge of the server, we don’t have access to the information there for now,” Bigun added.
