AFCON DRAW PLACES SUPER EAGLES, ALONG SIDE THE PHARAOH’S OF EGYPT IN SAME GROUP

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have ended her long time wait to determine the nations they will battle with, as they have been drawn in Group D of the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by the indomitable lions of Cameroon in 2022.
The draw was held in Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde on Tuesday evening and it places the most successful team in the competition, the Pharaohs of Egypt, along side the Super Eagles of Nigerian, who are three times African Champions in the same group. Also in the group, is Guinea Bissau and Sudan.

In Group A, Cameroon will contend with Cape Verde, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso, who took the silverware in 2013 AFCON after loosing to the Super Eagles in the final.
Group B is made up of Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, and Malawi, while Group C, comprises of Morocco, Comoros, Gabon and Ghana.
Algeria, who are the Defending Champions, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and Cote d’Ivoire are placed in group E and Group F, has Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, and Gambia.
