Air Peace commences Gombe operation

The Gombe State Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Jatau, on Wednesday, flagged off maiden flight by Airpeace Airliners in a renewed commitment to provide frequent air services to and from Gombe state towards boosting socioeconomic activities.

Representing Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya during the flag off at Lawanti International Airport, Gombe, he said transportation is very crucial in the development of any society, hence the need to improve on the system .

He said, “Our dear state is desirous of development, and is working towards it and we all know the important role of transportation to the human race as we engaged in the movement of persons, goods, and services. Accordingly, the state shall continue to encourage, support, and partner with you as you provide these essential services to the citizens.”
He added, “Currently, the state has Ashaka Cement factory that is operational,there is also another one, Maidugu Cement Factory that will soon be on board,similarly, the hitherto moribund Manto Processing Company will also be on board soonest.
“Above all the state has earmarked 1000_hectares of land named Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park which has so far attracted numerous investors that have expressed interest to come and invest. This translates to an increase in the volume of passengers coming in and out of Gombe.”

The Deputy Governor assured the Airliners that the government and the general public are ever ready to pay for services rendered at anytime as the market forces may dictate.
He welcomed the management into the Jewel in the Savannah and assured that Gombe state cherishes, preaches practices and maintains peace, wishing them safe flights and peace in both land and air.

In his remarks, the Ground Manager, Airpeace Airliners, Mr. Adeyemi Adeleye explained to the audience that the new route to and fro Gombe followed carefully considered travel needs of states in the country and has arrived at providing more opportunities to Gombe State.
He assured that the new route will be effective and the people of the state will enjoy their services, pledging to work very closely with the government and people of the state to create job opportunities for the citizens through their Airline.
Adeleye appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya , the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Civil Aviation among others for making their services to Gombe state possible.
The first AirPeace flight with rotation number P.47443, landed at around 5:00 pm at Lawanti International Airport.
Highlight of the event include, cutting of tape,and cake as well as presentation of traditional dance by Gombe state cultural troupe.
