Gombe NYSC gets 1,350 for Batch B stream II
No less than 1,350 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), are expected to participate during the batch B stream II orientation camp billed to hold in Amada, Akko LGA of Gombe State.
According to a press statement by Margaret Dakama, Head of Press and Public Relations Officer NYSC Gombe, the Director-General of National Youth Service Corps , Brig-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim has approved the conduct of the 2021 Batch B Stream II Orientation course from Wednesday 1st September to Tuesday 21st September, 2021.
“NYSC Gombe State is expecting one thousand three hundred and fifty (1,350) prospective Corps members for the exercise at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Akko Local Government Area,” She said.
While urging Prospective Corps Members to come to camp fully prepared to abide by the rules and regulations of the orientation course, Dakama stressed that Covid-19 test has been made mandatory.
She added, “In line with NYSC extant guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols, all Prospective Corps Members and camp officials must undergo COVID-19 test before being admitted into the camp; and in doing this, the Secretariat works in collaboration with State Health officials and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC).
“Camp participants are reminded to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 safety measures of regular use of the facemask, washing of hands under running water, use of alcohol based sanitizer and observance of social distancing among other things . With that in place, we can mitigate the spread of the virus.”
Similarly, during a joint meeting with the transport unions and Federal Road Safety Corps, State Coordinator of NYSC in Gombe Mrs Ada Imoni, urged them to ensure road worthiness of vehicles that Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) would be conveyed in.
Imoni who was worried about incessant road accidents involving corps members, added that “it based on NYSC Director General Brig-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim’s directive that PCMs should be advised to break their journey once it is 6pm.”
