Jos Crisis: Gombe commits to protection of life, property, as evacuated indigenes pay visit

The provision of security, protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of any Government across the world.
This and other considerations were responsible for the Gombe State Government proactive measures deployed to evacuate indigenes of the State studying at the University of Jos following the eruption of crisis in Jos, Plateau State recently, according to Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

He stated this on Wednesday, when he received the leadership of the Gombe State Students on a thank you visit for the proactive response of the Government to evacuate all of them safely to their families.
Njodi commended the students for deeming it fit to appreciate Government for doing what ordinarily should be it’s responsibility.
He however enjoined the students to equally appreciate the prayers of their parents by according them support during their stay at home.
The SSG further informed the visiting students leaders that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on getting information about the situation on the Plateau immediately directed all relevant government institution to put machinery in place for their evacuation.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Ethical Orientation Alh. Adamu Dishi Kupto said the determination of the Inuwa Yahaya led administration has been unprecedented in the history of the state as demonstrated in the establishment of the Ministry tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that Government in conjunction with all conventional security operations provide the state with needed protection from crime and criminality.
Kupto further enjoined the students to imbibe the spirit of calmness, organization and coordination in which ever situation they find themselves and to also aspire to be good citizens and leaders in future.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Abdullmalik Suleiman and Ambassador Moses Keri Bolda commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and indeed all those who contributed to the safe evacuation of the students.
They advised the students to remain grateful to God, obedient to their parents and supportive to government at all times.
Speaking earlier, Leaders of GOSSA University of Jos Chapter and the National President of TAWASA Geoffrey Jonathan Jonah said they were at SSG’S Office to register their appreciation for the prompt action of the State Government in evacuating them at the peak of the Jos crisis.
While pledging their unflinching support to the State Government, the Student leader also presented letters of appreciation to the Secretary to the State Government and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
