D’Tigress wins historic 3rd consecutive Afrobasket title, crashing the Malian Women’s Team

The Nigeria women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, has again become the champions of Africa on Sunday after they secured a 70-59 points win over Mali in the final match of the 2021 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Tournament.

D’Tigress started the first quarter of the game with show of class, style, physical and mental fitness, dominating the Malian women’s team to a 22-11 win.
However, It was a quick come back for the Marlian Women’s Team in the second quarter, as they overpowered D’Tigress, winning 13-9 to hold back.
The third quarter was dominated by the Nigerian women’s team, as they corrected their errors, regained their stands and ended up the quarter with 28-14 win over the Mali.
The final quarter was not an easy one for D’Tigress as the Malians conquered them to a 21-11 victory.
With the accumulated result, D’Tigress completed a hat trick of titles having also won in the 2017 and the 2019 edition of the tournament.
The Nigerian Women’s Basketball Team, D’Tigress has won the title on three consecutive times, behind the Senegalese team, which did same in the 70s edition.
