Gombe NYSC expects 1,300 for batch C stream I
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Gombe State has expressed readiness to host about 1,300 batch C stream I, Prospective Corps Members, at her temporary orientation camp located in Amada Akko local government area.
Stating this in a press statement issued on Monday, on behalf of the State Coordinator Ada Imoni, Dakama Iliya, head of press said camping exercise would begin from October 20 to November 9, 2021.
The statement partly read, “This is to inform parents, Guardians, NYSC stakeholders and the general Public, that the Director-General of National Youth Service Corps , Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has approved the conduct of the 2021 Batch C Stream I Orientation course from Wednesday 20th October to Tuesday 9th November, 2021.
“NYSC Gombe State is expecting one thousand three hundred (1300) prospective Corps members for the exercise at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Akko Local Government Area.”
While praying prospective Corps members safe trip to camp, she stressed the need for prospective corps members to avoid night travels.
“You are advised to avoid night journeys and use designated motor parks to board vehicles at all times. As much as possible, break your journey once it is 6pm to proceed the next day.
“The safety of corps members is the priority of NYSC Management. Help us to keep you safe,” she said.
The statement revealed that corps members would undergo Covid-19 test before their admittance, noting that camp officials were also advised to observe the relevant safety protocols.
She added, “In line with NYSC extant guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols, all Prospective Corps Members and camp officials must undergo COVID-19 test before being admitted into the camp; and in doing this, the Secretariat works in collaboration with State Health officials and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC).
“Camp participants are reminded to adhere strictly to the Covid 19 safety measures of regular use of the Facemask, washing of hands under running water, use of alcohol based sanitizer and observance of social distancing among other things . With that in place, we can mitigate the spread of the virus.”
