Debriefing: Gombe NYSC lauds batch C stream I corps members
The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni has commended the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Corps members deployed to Gombe State for exhibiting high level of discipline throughout the Orientation Course, describing them as a crop of highly disciplined, patriotic and unique Corps members.
That assertion was made at the debriefing of the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Corps members at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State.
Speaking on the Primary assignment, Mrs Imoni, said immediately after the Closing ceremony, posting letters would be distributed to Corps members . She advised them not to lobby for rejection. ” Gombe is a beautiful State with good and hospitable people. I urge you not to reject your posting.
The people are eagerly waiting for your arrival. Your Local Government Inspectors are also on ground to accord you the necessary assistance you need to settle down and contribute to.the growth and development of your host Communities” she said .
While speaking on embarking on journeys in the course of the service year, Mrs Imoni, said Corps members must use designated motor parks when boarding vehicles. She maintained that, Corps members must write through the proper channel of Communication and obtain permission by the State Coordinator before embarking on any journey within the Country.
“You are advised to break your journey once it is 6pm and continue the next day for your safety” she added. Imoni, maintained that any Corps member who travels with permission and falls sick should inform NYSC Secretariat of the State he or she is being treated and any Corps member who travels without permission would be sanctioned when he or she gets better.
Other issues she talked about include; The post camp Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, monthly biometric clearance, channel of communication, abuse of social media platforms , adherence to the Covid 19 safety measures after the Orientation Course,speaking to press and Community Development Service among other things.
On security, the NYSC Boss, cautioned Corps members against night parties and outings. She maintained that Corps members should walk and live in groups, familiarize themselves with their flat or lodge mates and report suspicious moves and persons to appropriate authorities as contained in the service guide (Phone number of security agencies).
