Gombe APC demands apology from Goje over Airport road clash
All Progressives Congress (APC), Gombe State chapter on Saturday, demanded apology from the senator representing Gombe central, Danjuma Goje.

Recall that five persons are feared dead following the clash that ensued over the visit of Goje, a former governor, along the Gombe airport on his way back from Abuja.
Goje, has been away from the state since the stakeholders meeting leading to the election of ward, local government and state elections of the All Progressives Congress.
Arising from a state executive meeting, the state party officials frowned at the current happenings, adding that the former governor and chieftain of the party owed the party an apology.
The officials who failed to answer questions, on the punitive actions if Goje failed to tender the apology, noted that they are solidly with the governor Muhammadu Yahaya whom they described as not in support of violence.
Speaking on behalf of the executives Moses Kyari, Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress called on members to eschew violence.
The statement partly read, “The Gombe state executive Congress at it meeting on Saturday 6th November 2021, unanimously agreed and reached the following resolutions; The All Progressives Congress condemns in very strong terms the incidence of yesterday (Friday) where violent crowd of the Senator Danjuma Goje’s supporters led to the lost of five lives, destroying property of the APC worth millions of Naira.
“The party will not condone this barbaric act and will take measures to discipline any party member no matter how highly placed he or she is. We call on security men to carry out appropriate investigation into the matter and whosoever is found culpable must be punished according to the laws of the land.
“The party has agreed to compel senator Danjuma Goje to tender complete apology to members of the party and indigenes of Gombe State, over this unfortunate incidence.
“We want to assure our teeming supporters in the state that the APC remains a strong and united party under the leadership of Alh. Inuwa Yahaya, the governor of Gombe State, and under his watch no indigene of the state will be injured or harmed for any reason other than politicking.”
…….Police maintains one person died
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Ishola Babaita has insisted that only one life was lost, revealing that scores of vehicles were destroyed.
Babaita stated this in a statement issued at the state command, while urging political gladiators to shield their swords.
“However, in the cause of the fracas scores of vehicles, were damaged and one death recorded. The command is using this medium to warn all political gladiators in the state as the time for campaign and other political activities is yet to be lifted.
“Discreet investigation is being carried with the view to arrest the perpetrators and arraign them before the law court accordingly.”
