Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointment of 3,078 Development Facilitators across the 11 local government areas of the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG),  Prof. Ibrahim Njodi who disclosed the approval of the Governor on Tuesday,  said the new appointees would serve as community representatives.

Recall that during Senate President Ahmad Lawan’s visit to the state, the governor had indicated interest to make the development facilitators serve as link between government and the people.

According to Njodi, The appointment is  across all the 114 wards of the state to facilitate community engagement in the areas of sensitisation and enlightenment on government policies and programmes as well as inter- governmental relations between the State and Local Governments.

The SSG revealed that all the appointments would take effect  from 1st January,  2022.

Njodi partly explained, “There will be 20 Development Facilitators I and 250 Development Facilitators II for each Local Government that  has 10 Wards while for those with 11 Wards, they will have 22 Development Facilitators I and 275 Facilitators II each.”
