Gombe Gov Signs 2022 Fiscal Year Budget Into Law
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya on Friday signed the N154.9 billion 2022 fiscal year Budget into law.
This is just about a month after the state’s House of Assembly passed the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law.

The signing of the Budget into law by the governor, was held at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Gombe.
The governor who spoke shortly after signing the Budget into law, said the Budget went through both normal and due process by engaging the people of the state, before it was presented to the House.
Tagged Budget of Consolidation, Yahaya said its geared towards the delivery of quality service and the upliftment of Gombe people.
He assured that his administration would consolidate on change and resilience which the previous budgets were tagged.
Besides noting that the expectations of Gombe people are high, Yahaya also promised that his administration would deliver 54 per cent of capital projects.
He stressed that his government has never failed in paying salaries, adding that the relationship between labour force, civil servants, as well as the entire people of the state remained cordial.
The governor noted that his administration has been living above board, noting that it is ready anytime to account for everything.
Revealing that N1.5 billion would be paid to retirees, the governor directed Commissioner for Finance, Muhammad Magaji to ensure the payment.
Yahaya said, “Any time any day we are ready to account for the leadership that God has given to us. Let me deviant little because we are celebrating a time that is yet to come during this year’s budget we made provision. We will maintain the name and honour at all cost by Monday, because of the Christmas we shall pay salaries. We shall also fulfill our obligation to pay N1.5b to our retirees for gratuity that is owed to workers.”
Also speaking, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mohammed Luggerewo said the Appropriation Bill was deliberated on extensively and due process followed before it was passed into law.
He commended the high ratio of Capital compared to Recurrent expenditures, adding that the zeal of the governor is to improve on the economic and social aspects of Gombe people.
