Again, Gombe State First Lady, Asma’u Yahaya, bags traditional title of zinariyar Gadawo
….distributes food and non food items to support, alleviate economic hardship in communities.
The wife of Gombe state governor, Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, has established the first ARC-P community hubs , one at Sayyada Gambo/ malam Malami tsangaya islamiya schools, in wuro yaya Ngahri village of Gadawo community and the other at the Christian New Covenant & orphans Foundation Tunfure respectively.
Addressing the people of wuro yaya Ngari , the governor’s wife, expressed her delight over the rousing welcome accorded her, especially the traditional title of zinariyar Gadawo unexpectedly conferred on her, for discharging her responsibility of supporting the girl-child education and extending a helping hard to the needy.
She therefore urged them to leverage on these rare opportunity that come their way in order to improve their children’s educational status and standard of living.
Asma’u Inuwa further assured of her husband’s support and assistance in areas earlier mentioned by the community leaders that required government intervention especially the basic social amenities, telling them that very soon, development partners from Malaysia will establish a university of technology in Kumo , that will bring employment/empowerment opportunities.
More so, the hospitality of the people will surely attract more foreign investors irrespective of the undulating nature of the settlement , calling on them to support the government of her husband,Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and pray for it to deliver the dividends of democracy to their door steps.
The First Lady then presented the food and non food items to be distributed judiciously to the pupils of the two tsangaya islamiya in wuro yaya Ngari with a strong motherly prayer for ALLAH’s blessings upon the children and the entire community.
Chairman, board of trustees of Jewel Care Foundation, who is also a board member of At Risk Children Project Advisory Committee,Hamisu Saulawa, told the gathering that, it is out of the passion to assist the less privileged in the society that led to the establishment of the Jewel Care Foundation foundation by the governor’s wife Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya.This spurred her to do more by seeing to the realization of ARC-P in Gombe in order to improve the standard of living of the common man.
The special adviser to the governor on human capital development, who is the ARC-P Gombe lead person, Barrister Sani Ahmed Haruna, explained thoroughly the aim of the program which is to support education and assist the vulnerable children/youths to achieve their full potentials , adding that this community hub will allow them rob minds and fish out areas needing urgent attention as well as long term development plan for the overall implementation and success of the project.
“ARC-P has trained and employed over 500 youths facilitators with 30 thousand naira monthly stipend .I am optimistic that in no distant time, we will do our best to ensure that these NCE graduates of this community gained empowerment and contribute towards the growth and development of Gombe state,”Haruna said.
Giving their separate remarks as sons of the soil, speaker,Gombe state house of assembly, Abubakar Muhammed Luggagerawo, district head of Gadawo, Shehu Atiku Muhammadu,chairman Akko LGA, Abubakar Usman Barambu, GM GOSEPA , Muhammed Soja Kumo and the secretary of Gadawo community development association, Bello Umar appreciated governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for including them in his government.
While hoping that the appeal of the people of wuro yaya Ngari and entire Gadawo community in terms of rural development will be addressed, they unanimously gave their unflinching support and loyalty to the present administration.
On behalf of the the people of Gadawo , the district head, Shehu Muhammad Atiku conferred on the First Lady, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, the traditional tittle of Zinariyar Gadawo ,as a mark of respect and appreciation for her mother love and humanitarian gesture.
The imam of wuro yaya Ngari, and the leaders of the two tsangaya islamiya ,Sayyada Gambo and Malam Malami , offered special prayers for governor Inuwa Yahaya and his family, children,youths and entire people Gadawo community and Gombe state at large,to coexist peaceful.
Highlights of the occasion was recitation of the holy Qur’an by the tsangaya pupils, inspection of tsangaya islamiya classes and paying homage to the village head of wuro yaya Ngari, Ibrahim Jalo Waziri at his palace by the First Lady.
Meanwhile , at the Christian New Covenant & Orphans Foundation (CENOCOF) Tunfure,the governor’s wife, Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya extended similar gesture of helping hand by presenting some food and non food items to orphans, admonishing them to be God fearing, hardworking and patient in life so that tomorrow will be much better and secured.
The chairman, Jewel Care Foundation, Hamisu Saulawa and ARC-P lead, Barrister Sani Ahmed said, their two offices have similarity of purpose in building capacity,
supporting and protecting lives of vulnerable people/homes. Therefore, by establishing this hub allows for synergy between the two parties so that the necessary intervention can be guaranteed.
The director of the Christian orphanage home evangelist Philicap Y.Degri, thanked the governor’s wife for lending a help hand when they needed such human gesture the most, pleading for more support of mattresses and school fees cater for the larger number of orphans at their permanent site. He also appealed to the public to always assist in building a good life for the orphans so that together, we can make the world a better place to live.
After one of the ARC-P Advisory Committee members,Dr.Erisa Danladi briefed the gathering on selfless service to humanity, an orphan Philimon Saraki prayed and thanked the first lady for visiting and giving them a sense of belonging .
