Magistrate sentences two to 12 months in custodial over criminal conspiracy, intimidation
Chief Magistrate Court three of Tumfure Area, Saluk Yusuf has sentenced 35-year-old Abdullahi Musa and 40-year-old Dahiru Ahmad to one calendar year without an option of fine.
Based on First Information Report (FIR) obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday, the duo were charged for criminal conspiracy and intimidation, which is contrary to section 96 and 396 of the penal code law.
According to the judgement, the duo were said to have threatened Usman Hassan after demanding N1m from the victim, who is also a resident of the state.
Musa and Ahmad, having listened to the FIR which was interpreted from English to Hausa, however, pleaded guilty while urging the magistrate for leniency.
Magistrate Yusuf charged the men to Gombe custodial centre, “there is right of appeal within 30 days,” he added.
