NSCDC prosecutes 500 cases in 10 months

No fewer than 500 cases have been prosecuted between March 2021 and January 2022, says outgoing commandant Gombe State Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Samson Wabulari.

Wabulari made this revelation in an interview with journalists shortly after a valedictory ceremony organised by the command as part of activities marking his retirement from service.

He disclosed that the command was also able to curb circulation of fake N1000 currency, as well as peaceful co-existence of residents of the state.

According to Wabulari, the corps has ensured that unsuspecting public were not paid with fake currency through due vigilance of his men.

“We have prosecuted cases more than 500, currently there are cases that we are prosecuting including the recent one anti-vandal, use of fake N1000 notes to buy food stuffs from unsuspecting public.

“Our men are always out in the night, afternoon and morning 24 hours to ensure the security of residents,” Wabulari said.

While advising the command to tow the path of supporting the in coming commandant, he lauded them for their efforts at ensuring the achieved progress during his term of office.

He added, “I’m more than excited. I wish to thank the federal government for giving me the opportunity to serve, as well as Ministry of Interior. I have enjoyed working in Gombe State, it is through team work that we have achieved what we achieved so far.”

On his part, Deputy Corps Commandant Ibrahim Meswok lauded the efforts of the out going commandant, while assuring that the men of the command would not deviate from the track record of excellence, integrity, vigilance and transparency.
