One of the biggest threats to the growth and development of any organisation or body in any society is disunity or not having the spirit of oneness.
As Christians, we are called to salvation, love, light, Godliness, amongst others; but I tell you brethren, if there is no unity, progress becomes a friend to stagnation.

In contemporary time, Christians have had to divide the religion through the knife of tribalism, politics and segregation in the House of the Lord even though we all belong to the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

Oneness is so important that the scriptural references below as inspired by the Holy Spirit were documented for members of the body of Christ to know how profitable unity is to the body of Christ and how “good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!(Psalm 133:1).

Galatians 3:28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Philippians 2:2
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Colossians 3:14
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Ephesians 4:3
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

The above scriptures show how warmly it is for the body of Christ to embrace love, peace and unity and share same in our heart through the help of the Holy Spirit.

In John 17:21 our Lord Jesus Christ made a very powerful prayer which showed that Our Heavenly Father is concerned about our being yoked together as one without minding our differences which to me were nailed on the cross just as those sicknesses which destroy the body of man.
According to the New Living Translation, Jesus is quoted thus “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. (John 17:21).

This prayer of our Lord Jesus was fulfilled during the recent Light Up Gombe Crusade that saw the body of Christ uniting to Praise Jesus in a manner that had not been witnessed in recent times.

During the crusade, denomination was silent; boundaries within the Body of Christ were broken, pastors became ushers, geography was no longer an issue as faithfuls came all the way from neighbouring states to sleep in Gombe just to worship our maker.

Tags bearing Pastor, Usher, Protocols, Media, Security, Medicals were worn by Christians; not church men or denominations. I saw choir members from different denominations throwing all out just to be together as One member in Christ.

When our father in the Lord Pst. Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was called to the podium, the Halleluyah didn’t come from RCCG members but from the body of Christ, Pst Paul Enenche, Isa Buba and others ministered and the love for them as shown by the people was huge.
And when it was time to Shine the Light, the colour of the lights from the phones of every believer present at the stadium symbolised one of the biggest miracles which for me was UNITY; Oh! The prayer of Jesus was fulfilled in Gombe State.

Indeed our Lord Jesus would be Joyful to see that His Children shone the light of unity and oneness in worship of His Holy Name; this will stand the test of time and since Gombe State has been shown the light in this regard, the body of Christ must ensure that we stand firm in this Unity by living and walking in the Light always while constantly being our brother’s keepers on daily basis.

    Great composition of the event, rightly captured. The event should linger in our minds/ hearts long enough, as to alter our attitudes towards exhibiting unity indeed, as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, pleasing Him this way, Amen.

    God bless you brother for this writeup. Indeed it was a fulfilment of scripture and I wish Christians in Gombe will really grab the import of that great miracle.

    CONGRATULATIONS Brethren.
    Please note, the battle before and during elections is not always as fierce as the post election battles.
    Please Daddies and Mummies, let us bruise the head of the serpent permanently by:
    1. Saying NO to any dictation of denominationalism;
    2. Praying fervently for the unity of the church in ALL gatherings;
    3. Ensuring our physical presence in the joint prayer meetings scheduled for every 1st Friday by 3pm @ RCCG, Solution Parish, GRA,GOMBE; and
    4. Seeing to the welfare of all Christians regardless of denominations.
    GREATER ACHIEVEMENTS ARE OUR PORTION IN JESUS NAME.
