Election: Gombe NAWOJ inaugurates credentials committee
The state council of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has inaugurated credentials and electoral committee in preparation for its forthcoming general election.

The inauguration which coincided with the monthly congress of the association followed the expiration of the present tenure.
Inaugurating the committee, the state chairperson of NAWOJ Mrs. Comfort Mukollo Ali expressed confidence on the ability of the members towards conducting a free, fair and credible elections.
Ali said the committee is to organise and conduct the election within the month of April 2022 subject to approval by the national secretariat.
The chairperson used the medium to commend the immense support she enjoyed from members of the association through out her two terms in office.
She noted that unionism is mostly sacrificial, expressing delight that the incumbent leadership has succeeded in projecting NAWOJ to the national office and earned it more recognition among it counterparts across the nation.
She added that this effort was achieved through collaboration and networking with local organisations and development partners, urging those who would take over the leadership to follow suit.
Speaking on behalf of the state council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the treasurer Miss Rebeccah Caleb Maina appreciated the loyalty of Nawoj and the cordial relationship, hoping that it would continue.
She congratulated the electoral committee for being selected to serve in that capacity and called on those aspiring for any position to play the game according to the rules in order to make NAWOJ greater, assuring them that the doors of NUJ is always open for necessary assistance.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the chairperson, Mrs Asenath Silas Paris lauded NAWOj for finding them worthy of the responsibility, While promising to work within the constitutional provision for the overall progress of the association.
She called on aspirants to exhibit maturity in their politicking so as to make the committee’s work much easier.
Other members of the committee are; Aishatu Modibbo, Rebeccah Mua’zu, Hauwa Teman, Tasidi Lawenji and Fathiyya Auwal who will serve as the secretary.
