National Human Rights Commission, visits NSCDC Gombe State, commends Corps on protection of human rights
Gombe State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Waziri Baba Goni, on Thursday received in audience Gombe State Coordinator, National Human Rights Commission Barr. Mohammed Ayuba, who led a delegation on an advocacy visit to the state command.

Ayuba informed the State Commandant that the commission was established by the Federal Government through the Human Rights Commission Act 1995, as amended in 2010 inline with the resolution of the UN General Assembly.
He said the resolution which enjoins all member states to establish National Human Rights institutions for the protection and enforcement of Human Rights.
In his response, Commandant Goni, welcomed the State Coordinator and the Commission members for their visit, adding that the command would support
He also assured that NSCDC would continue to uphold the sanctity and dignity of residents at all times, stressing that human rights were inalienable rights that should be protected as provided by the law.
Goni promised to work closely with the commission to achieve its aim and objectives.
Highlight of the visit was the inspection of the Command’s Guard room and Cells.
