Tinubu seeks inward help in rescuing Nigeria
All Progressives Congress APC, presidential hopeful, Bola Tinubu on Tuesday said the only way Nigeria will regain her pride of place is to look inward.
Tinubu made this disclosure while seeking the support of Gombe delegates, adding that youths of Nigeria should be meaningfully engaged to harness their talents for the development of the nation.
He said Government should realise that electricity is the most important discovery of the 20th century till now adding that there is absolutely nothing any country yearning for development can do without it.
Tinubu said he could guarantee that banditry would stop, adding that it is because the country is not applying the right method that insurgency still persist.
“We must develop new method to develop our country. The change in Lagos is just the beginning. We will collaborate with all the state of the federation because one rich man with seven poor men are all poor. We must collaborate to help ourselves,” he said.
He said even though he has come to ask the people to be the president of Nigeria but he can only be there through their votes.
Tinubu begged the delegates to chose wisely when it is time to chose the president by choosing him to fly the flag of the party.
“I have everything it takes to be the president of Nigeria. I have the brain, the talents and the courage. What I have done in Lagos is just the beginning, i will do much more than that if I am given the chance to lead Nigeria because Nigeria needs a courageous leader like me to steer the affairs of this nation. We will build this nation, nut by seeking for helps but by helping ourselves,” he said.
Earlier, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya in his welcome address lauded Tinubu for his fatherly role in the APC saying that he is not just a father to the party but also a father to the whole nation.
“I know you are genius in discovering talents and using them for the benefits of the people. We have seen what you have done in Lagos in respect of this which translated into Lagos alone having three powerful offices in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. This is the kind of person that Nigeria needs at this point in time. A person that will be able to put round peg in round holes,” he said.
Governor Yahaya promised to deliver the votes of Gombe delegates to Tinubu when then the time comes because he has worked for it and he deserves the post.
On his part, state Chairman of APC, Nitte Amangal said the party can never forget the role of Tinubu and will surely do justice to his desire.
According to him, “Tinubu as the national leader of the party will ensure unity and purposeful leadership.”
