Foundation lauds IGP’s Gombe visit
The Sarkin Shanu Foundation for Youth and Community Development, on Wednesday joined other concerned stakeholders to welcome the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to Gombe State.
The IGP is in Gombe State for a familiarisation visit and to attend maiden Gombe State Security and Peace Summit, as well as Commissioning of Operational Vehicles tagged ‘Operation Hattara’.

The foundation was part of the two organisations nominated to present an award to the Inspector General of Police during the Lecture/Townhall organised by the Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Babaita.
Speaking during the presentation of the Award to the Inspector General of Police by the Programme Manager of the foundation, Malam Yahaya Muhammad Kumo lauded Baba’s commitment.
Yahaya said the award was approved by the Executive Director and Sponsor of the foundation Alh. Abubakar Muhammad Bello, “This is presented to you as commendation and encouragement to do more in your effort to secure the country especially Gombe State in particular,” the Programme Manager said.
He further said that the foundation under its able founder is doing everything possible to curb the issue of Youth restiveness through various empowerment and skills acquisition which would contribute to mitigating social vices among Youth.
The delegation of the foundation included; Alh. Shagari Shehu, Mal. Yahaya Babayo Raba, Media Team, Youth and Women, among others.
