Gov Inuwa inaugurates NMA medical outreach in Gombe
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya says the health sector would continue to occupy an important position in the life of his administration in view of the fact that only a healthy society can contribute to the growth and development of the state.

Governor Yahaya gave this explanation while inaugurating the Nigerian Medical Association NMA medical outreach organised by the Association in collaboration with the Gombe State Government and North-East Development Commission (NEDC), at the Zainab Bulkachuwa Women Children’s hospital Gombe.

Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Yahaya told the visiting top echelon of the NMA who are in the state for their annual conference that his administration has constructed and equipped one Primary Health Care Centres PHCC in each of the 114 political wards in the state.

The Governor explain that in addition to the PHCCs his administration has equally remodelled the State Specialist and constructed brand new hospital in Kumo and re-constructed Kaltungo and Bajoga General hospitals.

He thanked the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association NMA for choosing Gombe State as venue for their National Conference and also giving back to the society through the medical outreach.
The National President of the Nigerian Medical Association Dr. Uche Ojinma, expressed gratitude to the Gombe State Government for providing them with the necessary logistical support for the successful hosting of the conference.
He said medical outreach is an annual ritual by the Nigerian Medical Association NMA as part of its corporate social responsibility saying that the outreach was simultaneously taking place in Ashaka and Gombe.
The NMA National President observed with satisfaction the modest achievement by the Inuwa Yahaya’s led administration in the health sector saying his giant strides in the provision of quality health care services to the people of the State is resounding.
Earlier in an address of welcome the chairman Gombe State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association Dr. Khalifa Abdulsalam, expressed gratitude to the Gombe State Government for its morale and financial assistance towards hosting the NMA national conference.
The SSG Prof. Njodi and other top Government officials were also attended to during the Medical outreach.
