‘Return our vehicles’: Gombe Police recover four operational vehicles from Adamawa
Barely two weeks after the directives of Inspector General of Police Usman Baba, on the need for Adamawa State Police Command to return operational vehicles to Gombe State, no fewer than four operational vehicles have been returned.
Baba, gave the directive during his familiarisation visit to Gombe State Police command headquarters.
Recall that a mild drama ensued on 10th August 2022, when Gombe State Commissioner of Police Ishola Babaita immediately made a call to his colleague Sikiru Akande, whilst Baba was still speaking which led to the marching order for Adamawa command to return its vehicles.

Akande, had said he was not Commissioner at the time the vehicles were said to have been deployed, but the IGP urged him to investigate and return them appropriately.
The IGP said, “Return all those vehicles, even if they are dead, return the carcass.”
Babaita, while enumerating what the command had lost to other command’s said, “Sir, permit me to state that, in the year 2017 and 2018, seven patrol vehicles from this Command were deployed to Adamawa State Police Command.”
Confirming the return of the operational vehicles shortly after decorating 13 Superintendents of Police on Thursday at the Officers’ Mess Babaita, lauded the Inspector General of Police, stressing that the recently acquired vehicles would boost the command’s effort in the state.
He said, “Thank you very much, let the general public know that I have recovered my four vehicles from Adamawa State.”
Commenting on the 2023 elections, the Commissioner of Police urged parents to warn their wards against working as tools in the hands of politicians.
“Let me use this opportunity to tell our parents to warn their children not to allow themselves to be used for thug related activities, let politicians follow the rules of the gain. We are here to protect each and everyone of them,” Babaita added.
