Benue State releases 2021 scorecard on Family Planning
The Benue State 2021 Family Planning Performance Scorecard has been launched with the indices showing poor performance rate due to inadequate release of funds.
According to the scorecard launched by the Director, Public Health, Dr. Terna Kur represented by Dr Evelyn Ajena, State Government budget allocation to family planning out of the total health budget stands at 0.8, while allocation for family planning from health capital budget is one point two percentage.

Also, percentage of Government budget allocation to FP released as scheduled is 52.9 percent and expenditure on FP per woman of reproductive age is 20.44 naira.
The Director Public Health however assured that Government would continue to do its best to improve family planning services.
Members of the Advocacy Working Group of FP however asked that the State Government ensures timely release of family planning budget to guarantee access to quality and voluntary Family Planning services as well as increase domestic funding in the next budget cycle in light of less support from partners.
Pathfinder representative, Mr Yusuf Nuhu, while emphasising the need for adequate domestic funding for FP charged the State Advocacy Working Group to sustain its push to enable the policy makers do the needful.
