Buhari wants Senate’s approval on promissory notes for Kebbi, Taraba, Yobe
The Nigeria’s Senate President Dr. Ahmad lawan, has stated that issues discussed in the closed session are strictly about the workings of the Senate.
The Senate President also read in plenary five letters from president Muhammadu Buhari, and “key among them is the letter of submission of the 2023-2025 MTEF for the kind approval of the Senate as they prepare for his laying of the 2023 budget before them soon.”

The president also sought the approval of the Senate to issue promissory notes to the tune of 6.6 billion to Kebbi and Taraba States, as reimbursement for construction of Federal roads in thier states, and promissory note to the tune of 18 billion naira to Yobe State, as reimbursement for the construction of federal roads the president says in view of scarcity of funds the FEC gave approval for the states to be reimbursed through promissory notes.
