Capacity building training: Gombe HOCS takes staff of LG Pension Board on effective record keeping, others
The State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya, has tasked Local Government Pension Board staff on effective record keeping and management.

Yahaya who gave charge at the opening of a one-day in-house capacity building training organised by the board, also reminded them of the need for secrecy in handling handling government sensitive documents.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary General Administration, Mr.Iranus Mamman, the head of Service commended the initiative of the board and management in updating staff knowledge for optimum productivity.
He noted that where conventional training in institutions are becoming expensive such initiatives would fill the gap.

The head of civil service further enjoined the participants to take advantage of the training opportunity to improve on their performance.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of Local Government Pension Board, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad, explained that the decision for the workshop was informed by the need to update staff capacity in tandem with the Governor Inuwa Yahaya administration’s, stressing that “positive desire towards ensuring accountability and transparency in governance.”
Muhammad added that the training whose thematic areas include; Documents filing and management, Appreciation of Pension and gratuity computation, and Computer application in Pension administration, saying that “this is expected to equip the staff on modern record keeping techniques.”
Papers were presented on Importance of record keeping and file processing in management, Comprehensive checklist for effective computing of pension and gratuity and introduction to computer skills.
