Gombe Industrial Summit: 269 investors indicate partnership interest

Gombe State is receiving global and national attention as Gombe Investment Summit has over 269 applications from foreign and local investors to attend the summit.
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, who
disclosed it in Gombe, said 269 investors have already indicated interest by applying for a space in the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park along Dadinkowa road in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of the state.
The Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman, Steering Committee on the Gombe Investment Summit added that the level of preparations so far is encouraging considering the achievement recorded by the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya which has attracted both foreign and local investors for the summit.
According to him, “these applications are from both foreign and local investors covering manufacturing sector, food and beverages as well as Agro-Allied and Small and Medium enterprises.
” Having looked at all parameters, events and trends around the world, we have come to the conclusion that industrialization is the only panacea to development. We have earmarked 1000 hectares of land for Industrial Park, named Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, where we expect investors from all over the world to come and invest. This is expected to make Gombe State join the community of producers.
” We are also planning to stage our maiden investment summit targeted at bringing investors in all aspects of life to come to Gombe. This would help in creating employment, increase revenue generation and other benefits to the teaming Youths. We have the fertile land, two major dams, and hydro electric power to generate 40 megawatts. From all historical analysis, Gombe State is very rich in agriculture, and having located in the centre of the Northeast Sub-region, Gombe is known for commercial activities and financial services. It is also known for peace and hospitality, making it possess all the qualities needed for industries to thrive.
” Gombe has been rated first in the ease of doing business, and the Inspector-General of Police has rated the state as one of the peaceful. These are added advantages that will make industries to thrive and woo investors to come.”
He further explained that, the Committee has made met physically and virtually and has made several visits to the industrial park and the International Conference Centre all in efforts to ensure successful staging of the summit.
He appreciated the press for supporting Government programmes and policies and called on them to assist in massive dissemination of information towards success of the summit.
The Commissioner of Information who is also the Chairman, Media and Publicity Sub-committee noted that all media outfits have been taken into cognizance and funds have been made available for adequate publicity.
The Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Tourism, Alh. Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu , Commissioner of Internal Security and Ethical Orientation, Adamu Dishi Kupto, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget, Planning and Development Partner Coordination Office, Dr. Ishaku Mohammed attended the press briefing.
