Gov Yahaya says youth empowerment topmost priority

As parts of administration of Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to reduce youth restiveness and provide job opportunities, several youths are trained and equipped in different skill acquisitions in the state.
The Governor who also explained the commitment of his administration to poverty reduction through youth engagements and provisions of means of livelihoods, said that the aim was to reduce poverty, provide job opportunities and avoid youths restiveness as the elections are approaching in 2023.

The governor who made the assertion in Gombe when he received the members of project T-Max an intervention programme of the Federal Government.
The Governor was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.
He said that said his administration will welcome collaboration initiatives that will enhance the lots of young persons in the state.
While appreciating the various poverty alleviations of Federal Government, Governor Yahaya assured them of their supports for the success of the skills acquisition programme which has been productively engaging the Industrial Training Fund ITF in training of youth in different skill acquisitions and vocations.
The leader of the Project T-Max Team Mr Fele Bank-Olema, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Education Intervention said that project is part of government’s deliberate effort in tackling poverty among Nigerians.
Bank-Olemoh explained that the project is in its pilot stage operating in seven states which Gombe State is inclusive and also targeting two thousand Youths in various skills for self reliance.
The SSA to the President also disclosed that the programme which last till the end of year is expected to commence tomorrow with the opening of the T-Max portal for interested individuals to register and followed the selection process.
The Ministry of Youth Development is expected to serve as the State government link in the project implementation.
