Quality Healthcare remains our priority says Gombe Deputy Governor
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has reiterated the administration’s resolve to continue to prioritise provision of quality healthcare to the people.
The Deputy Governor who made the statement when he received the Officials of Nigerian Medical Association, Gombe State Chapter on a courtesy call in his office, said this is in view of the important place health occupies in determining other sectors of the economy.
The Deputy Governor noted that the administration has invested a lot in the health sector and shall continue to do more for the people to enjoy good health services towards development of the state and the nation.
He pointed out the need for symbiotic relationship between the Government and the stakeholders of the health sector especially the Doctors towards achieving health targets and objectives.
He called on them to see their duty as a sacrifice to humanity not only sticking to their official time but going extra mile to assist whenever there is cause to save lives and humanity.
The Deputy Governor assured of Governments commitment to the welfare of Doctors and all medical personnel to make them very committed to their responsibilities of saving of lives.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association , Gombe State Chapter, Dr. Khalifa Abdulsalam Ibrahim informed the Deputy Governor that they were in his office to appreciate the Government for support given to the Association during their NEC meeting recently and continued support to the medical personnel in the state.
They were also appreciative to the Government for upgrading of hospitals, activation of Primary Health Centres, and obtaining of approval for residency training, and Housemanship, and many other improvements in the health sector for the benefit of humanity.
The Chairman used the opportunity to introduce the newly innaugurated officials of the NMA Gombe Chapter, and appealed to the Government to consider upgrading of Doctors and payment of all outstanding allowances among others to boost their moral towards efficient Performance of their duties.
