Gombe Assembly Confirms two Commissioner-nominees
Gombe State House of Assembly has confirmed two Commissioners nominated by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The Commissioners Sanusi Ahmed Pindiga from Akko Local Government area and Andirya Abishai Moljengo Computer from Kaltungo were confirmed immediately after their screening exercise on Tuesday.
The two who were screened individually were asked to take a bow after they presented their resume before the lawmakers.
Our correspondent reports that this confirmation is following the resignation of Julius Ishaya, former Commissioner for Information, who resigned to pursue his political career of becoming Representative member and Hussaina Goje, ex Commissioner for Environment, who left office in the heat of Governor Yahaya and Danjuma Goje crisis.
While commending governor Muhammadu Yahaya for choosing the right people, the members from the constituencies of the Commissioners took turns to reel out their contributions in the public and private sectors, assuring that the Commissioners would contribute immensely to the success of the Yahaya-led administration.
At the end of the screening exercise, the Deputy Speaker Siddi Buba, who presided over the exercise, put the question for their confirmation and the lawmakers unanimously approved their appointment.
In an interview with journalists, the two confirmed Commissioners expressed their happiness and assured of their readiness to contribute in whatever capacity they would be placed.
They pledged to work for the success of the administration especially the re-election bid of Governor Yahaya.
