Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointment of two new Commissioners.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, conveyed the Governor’s approval in a statement obtained by our correspondent.

He said the two new members of the Gombe State Executive Council are Hon. Sanusi Ahmed Pindiga from Akko Local Government Area and Hon. Andirya Abishai Moljengo from Kaltungo LGA.

Our Correspondent had reported that the duo scaled a screening process organised by lawmakers at the State Assembly.

Their nomination brings the 19-member Executive Council to 21, as they are expected to fill the void following the resignation of two ex Commissioners due to varying reasons.

The SSG also conveyed the Governor’s approval of the appointments of Sheikh Bashir Umar Kashere and Alh. Sambo Adamu Billiri as members of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

According to Professor Njodi, “all the appointments take immediate effect, while the date for the swearing-in of the two new Commissioners will be announced later.”
