NLO Super 8: Mailantarki Boys start campaign with 2-1 win against FC Ebedei
Mailantarki Care Football Club produced a master-class performance to beat stubborn Shagamu based club FC Ebedei 2-1 with goals coming from the team’s young sensational forwards Auwal Abba and Abdulazeez Maiyadi.

Director of Media MCFC.
According to the Ahmed, “the tough encounter was the first game played from group A of the 2022 NLO Super 8 taking place on the Legacy pitch of the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos State on Monday 3rd October, 2022.
“Since the blast of the first whistle actions were ensured at the center, until an attacking run was masterminded by Victor Ochai who fed Saddeq MB down the left flank before the latter lofted an effort to the part of awaited Abdullazeez Maiyadi who blasted over amidst intense pressure from the opponent defense.
“The real chance also came from the Mailantarki boys as well with our box-to-box Victor Ochai who got better of Ebedei defense before turning forward with a bang just for Akpereshi Cosmos dived with a power hand to tame away the danger in 18 minutes.
“Another chance come begging and this time it was Sadeeq MB who missed to head home a rebound with his flicked header went wide of the far post from close range.”
The media officer said MCFC got its well deserved opener courtesy of David Shobowale’s lofted delivery from the left flank and sailed over Ebedei’s defense to the part of Auwal Abba, the latter cushioned his ball before curling home in the center as Ebedei’s defense watched.
He stated that the Shagamu-based club responded as Odekunle Musiliu was freed from the center in an one-on-one situation just for our safest hand to Victor Elias to formed a wall of himself for a rescued.
However, Abdulazeez Maiyadi doubled the lead four minutes before the end of the first entertaining half, Sadeeq MB’s powerful strike from inside the box forced Cosmos to make a block which fall for Maiyadi who reacted quickest and slot home the second as the first half rounded off in our favour a few minutes after.
There were moments of intense pressure from both sides after the restart, Miko Dalha who came as second-half substitute was denied by the Man in between the sticks for Ebedei Ekpereshi Cosmos as he produced a brilliant save to thwart the former’s effort from close range.
Our goalie Victor Elias stopped Musiliu Odekunle Musiliu with a fingertips save for a corner kick, the unmarked forward got his goal from the resultant corner kick after smashing a header from close range as we held firmly for the victory which place us top of the group A after Owerri based club Kun Khalifat shared the spoils with Smart City FC of Lagos.
Ahmed said MCFC would entertain the Lagos-based club Smart City FC in one of the matchday 2 fixtures by 2 pm tomorrow at the same Legacy pitch of the National Stadium Surulere.
