Ashaka Cement, Funakaye LG Council, Operation Safe Corridor host Senior Course 45
As part of its Study Tour to Gombe State the Senior Course 45 of the Armed Forces and Staff College Jaji, on Tuesday visited Ashaka Cement Company, Funakaye Local Government Secretariat and Operation Safe Corridor Camp Mallam Sidi.


Receiving the team at the factory, Managing Director of Ashaka Cement Company Ibrahim Aminu, and his top management staff briefed the delegation on the historical background and operations of the cement company established 43 years ago.
According Aminu, the company sources 90 percent of it raw materials and human resources locally in addition to attracting other players into business like truck owners, marketers and sundry service providers within the host communities thereby creating thousands of direct and indirect employment for the people.
Aminu also informed the visiting research students that one of the major contributions to the stability in the operations of the company lies in its Corporate Social Responsibility activities which targets Education, Health, Agriculture and Infrastructure development of the host communities.
He said these and many other strategies include periodic stakeholders engagement, had immensely assisted in mitigating insecurity in the area especially youth restiveness.
In his remark, the team lead Brigadier Gener Ishaya Buba Maina appreciated the company management for according them the opportunity of understanding the critical role it’s playing in impacting positively to checkmating remote causes of insecurity through job and wealth creation which according to him is in tandem with their theme of study Unemployment and National Security.
The team was later taken to the factory on a guided facility tour.
