Halima Factor Community Initiative founder lauds Govt Support to Creativity

A prolific writer and founder of Halima Factor Community Initiative, Halima Usman, has appreciated the support given to her organisation by Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, his Deputy Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, and other distinguished personalities.
Usman said the support has contributed enormously towards the success of the foundation which has helped to organise the festival annually.

She explained that the initiative which started as an annual Gombe Day, has now become North-East Festival of Literature, Culture and Creativity aimed at promoting educational values through creative Writing, Arts, and Culture.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Opening Ceremony of 9th Annual Gombe Day and 2nd North East Festival of Literature, Culture and Creativity which took place at the New Multipurpose Hall, Gombe State University.
She explained that over the years, some of the youths have had their tuition fees paid by the Halima Factor Community Initiative in order to encourage them to see the value of education as well use their innate abilities as a means of sustenance.

While the Gombe Deputy Governor, Jatau, commended Halima Factor Community Initiative for promoting creative writing, arts, culture.
He added, “the initiative is very apt in view of dwindling culture of creativity, reading, writing.”
He also commended the proprietor of Halima factor Initiative for mobilising the youths with potentials in literature, culture and creativity, towards making them positive agents of development.
The Deputy Governor was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Mr. Bala Mohammed Kaltungo.
He also noted that the initiative would go a long way in complementing Government’s efforts in the area of promoting educational values through creative writing , arts and culture.
He said, “the development will not only keep the youths positively engaged but will widen their scope of thinking, creativity and in problem solving especially in this most challenging times.”
The Deputy Governor reiterated that when the youths are productively engaged they would shun idleness and it’s attendant consequences of engaging themselves negatively in criminal acts of terrorism, kidnapping, internet fraud, hooliganism, thuggery and any of the vices that hampers the peaceful coexistence of the state and the nation.
“the initiative will also help in reviving the fast dying culture of creativity, reading and writing amongst the youths which has become a dangerous cog in the wheel of the nations educational development, and could change the narrative by restoring our lost glory,” Jatau added.
