Infrastructure: Participants of Senior Course 45 lauds Gombe State Gov
The Participants of Senior Course 45 2022 of the Armed Forces Command Staff College Jaji have lauded initiatives and programmes of Gombe State, saying that its geared towards creating jobs and wealth for youths.


The team lead of Senior Course 45 who are in the on a study tour, Brigadier General Ishaya Buba Maina, gave the commendation when they visited the Gombe Mega Park, Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Industrial cluster Nasarawo, Ministry of Youth Development, Gombe Regional Water treatment plant and the 40 megawatt Dadinkowa hydro power plant.M
Maina noted that the study tour with the theme “Youth Unemployment and National Security Prospects and Challenges” seeks to interrogate the efforts of Gombe state in addressing unemployment as a strategy to mitigate insecurity.
He said the government’s commitment to industrialisation remains critical to job creation for the teeming skilled and unskilled labour across the state.
The team leader further noted with delight the quantum of young people that would be gainfully employed either directly or indirectly if the multi billion naira Motor Mega Park and the Muhammadu Buhari industrial park are completed and put to into use.
The Commissioners of Youth Development, Alhaji Abubakar Aminu Musa, Water Resources Alhaji Yahaya Mijinyawa and representatives of Ministry of Trade and Commerce and Energy were on available to receive, brief and conduct the team in their respective areas of concern.
Briefing the team on various efforts of his Ministry in creating jobs for the youths, the Commissioner of Youth Development gave a staggering and disturbing statistics of large number of registered and non registered unemployed young people in the state, but noted that the State Government has been in partnership with relevant Federal Government agencies like the NDE and Industrial Training Fund ITF to train youths on various skills.
The Commissioner also acknowledged other empowerment interventions such as Keke NAPEP, GOSTEC, and the Gombe Goes Green projects through which thousands of young people are gainfully engaged by the government in a deliberate effort to take them off the street for the peace of society.
