27 persons are kidnapped monthly in Gombe State – Gov Yahaya
……calls for concerted efforts towards tackling insecurity

The North-East zone has been in the news for a long time because of insurgency and recently kidnapping which is becoming the order of the day particularly in Gombe.
This ugly development has made the State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, express total displeasure and sadness over the trend where almost 27 persons are kidnapped monthly in the state.
Speaking on Wednesday at the palace of Mai Tangle in Billiri Local Government Area where the APC Campaign train visited to canvass for votes and in other political wards.
The Governor expressed sadness over security issues in Billiri, calling on the people of the local government to be security conscious and to also be their brothers keeper, in order to collectively fight insecurity, particularly kidnappers where the state records almost 27 cases of kidnap on monthly basis.
He also expressed dismay over the recent cattle rustlers attack in Amtawalam and some cases of kidnapping for ransome in the area, calling on people of the area to report any suspicious movement to security agencies for prompt response.
The governor maintained that his administration would leave no stone unturned in ensuring peace and security of lives and property in Billiri and the state in general.
On his re-election bid, the Governor assured that APC administration would consolidate on the development projects provided in Billiri and other parts of the state.
In her address of welcome, Billiri Local Government Chairperson Margret Bitrus, appreciated the governor for his development projects in Billiri especially in the areas of road networks, health, agriculture, employment opportunities and consideration many Tangale sons and daughters in key political and administrative positions.
She, however, appealed to the governor for more, especially in road networks and the rehabilitation of Billiri General Hospital.
In his address, the Mai Tangle Malam Ɗanladi Sanusi Maiyamba, appreciated the governor for his love to Billiri, assuring that Billiri is home to him.
Speaking at the rally at the at Bare, Billiri South, Banganje South, Kalmai, Tanglan and Tal wards, the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Coordinator, Jamil Ishiyaka Gwamna and the Director General of the APC campaign team in the State Barrister Zubairu Muhammad Umar, called on Billiri people to collect their permanent voters cards and vote for APC candidates at all levels.
During the campaign rallies, the deputy chairman of the state APC Baba Abuja, received thousands of new members who defected to APC from the opposition parties, assuring them of equal treatment.
