Gombe SSG empowers 50 Women in Kaltungo
In his quest to improve the quality of livelihood of women and youths in Gombe South, Secretary to Gombe State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has empowered 50 women in Kaltungo Local Government Area.

Addressing the women trained in various trades at Mawato Hall Kaltungo yesterday, Njodi tasked them to maximise the opportunity to improve their families.
He said the initiative was informed by his desire to positively touch the lives of the people.

While recalling his early life in Kaltungo, Njodi, told the gathering that petty trading by his mother greatly assisted his education and upbringing, urging them to be patient and resilient in the conduct of their businesses.
The SSG further encouraged the empowerment beneficiaries to teach their wards the trade they have learnt so as to ensure sustainability of the skills acquired.
He assured that the empowerment initiative, “will be continued,” Njodi disclosed that he targets the entire Gombe South Communities including youths.

In their respective goodwill messages the majority leader Gombe State House of Assembly Yerima Ladan, Commissioner of Youth Development Abubakar Aminu Musa, Special Adviser on Strategy and Information Management, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, Youth activitist Ahmed Magem, APC Zonal Vice Chairman Musa Hassan Wali, APC Chairman Kaltungo Local Government, Ayuba Hassan, all hailed Professor Njodi for the show of quality leadership and humanitatarian services.
They also used the ocassion to challenge other political office holders to emulate the good works of the SSG to uplift the people out of poverty.
In her remark, the Chief Executive Officer Derby Beauty Products Academy, Mrs Deborah Luka, who conducted the training said the benefiting women were trained in liquid soap making, body cream and accounting skills to improve their livelihood.
Our Correspondent reports that 50 women were given N20,000 each, certificates of attendance, wrapper and rice as start up package.
The elated women were full of praises of Prof. Njodi, pledging their support to the APC-led government in the State under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The event also featured admission of the leadership and members of African Democratic Congress party in Kaltungo Local Government into the All Progressives Congress.
