PCMs warned against abuse of social media platforms, partisan politics, others
The National Youth Service Corps has warned Prospective Corps members against abuse of Social Media platforms by posting videos, pictures or channeling grievances.
The call was made by the State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni while briefing the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Prospective Corps members deployed to Gombe State at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada.

“On no account should Corps members post videos or photographs of Camp activities on any social media platform. We have a social media team saddled with such responsibilities. Anyone caught will be sanctioned in accordance to the provisions of the NYSC Bye-laws. We have channels of Communication on camp for complaints or channeling of grievances,” she said.
Imoni, also spoke on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC; the Orientation Course, Primary assignment, Community Development Service and the Winding up and Passing out.
She maintained that though the Orientation Course was regimented, activities had been carefully selected to entertain, educate and enlighten Participants, adding that , discipline would be the watchword on camp .
On obeying constituted authority, the State Coordinator, cautioned them against membership of cult groups and other social vices.
“The camp court will be constituted to try erring Corps members. It is my belief that none of you will be found wanting. Do your best to respect laid down rules and regulations,” she said .
Imoni, also spoke on allowances, National Health Insurance Agency, the three religious groups allowed on camp; Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria, National Association of Catholic Corpers and Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship and involvement of Corps members in camp administration among others.
The State Coordinator, speaking on the 2023 general elections, cautioned Prospective Corps members against partisan politics.
She disclosed that the Scheme, come 2023 would be expected to participate in the general elections as ad hoc Staff and must deliver free, fair and credible elections.
She added, ” You are not expected to belong to any Political party. We must be nonpartisan to deliver on the mandate given to us.”
On the issue of relocation,Mrs Imoni said relocation in Gombe State would be granted on only two grounds; Health and Marital with supporting documents. She also warned them not to pay for any service rendered, emphasizing that relocation and posting of Corps members are free of charge.
