QATAR 2022 WORLD CUP: Morocco eliminates Spain, qualifies for the quarter-finals of the World Cup

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have successfully roared into the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in history after Spain missed three penalties in a dramatic shootout after extra time.

Luis Enrique, who had earlier advised his players to take a thousand penalties with their respective club faces the consequences of his players negligence by loosing 3-0 to Morocco on a penalty shoot out at the Education City stadium.
After 120 pulsating minutes of play which ended in a barren draw, the match comes down to the second penalty shot out of the tournament in front of 44,467 spectators.
During the 90 minutes of play plus extra time, la Roja, dominated possession but failed to create any clear cut chances against the stubborn Moroccan defense line who only conceded an own goal in the tournament.
Walid Regragul’s men now advance to the quarter finals for the first time in their footballing history and would face Portugal who hammered Switzerland 6-1 in their last-16 tie, in the quarter-finals on Saturday December 10, at 3pm.
