CAN endorses Gombe gov for second term

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe State has endorsed Muhammadu Yahaya, for re-election ahead of 2023 gubernatorial election.
Lauding the governor’s leadership acumen in his first tenure, Chairman of CAN Rev. Joseph Shinga, said “If you are given another chance you will do more.”

Shinga made this disclosure on Saturday at the banquet hall of Gombe Government House, when he led the delegation on a new year visit.
According to him, “Your Excellency Sir, as Christian Community we noted in less time your laudable achievements in the area of human and capital developments in difference sectors and ministries. We want to sincerely thank you for your unflinching support to the Christian community in various ways.”

“The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Gombe State Chapter want to specially and sincerely applaud you and your Government for maintaining peace and order and also safeguarding the life and property of the people of Gombe in General, without which no single development would have taken place,” he added.
While commending the governor for sponsoring pilgrims, despite the economic hardship, wished governor Yahaya successful election, alongside his entire cabinet.
CAN chairman added, “On a final note, the entire Christians under my leadership, wish His Excellency and His Cabinet a Happy New Year and continuous growth, development and successful election year.”
Also, Preacher of God’s Glorious Tabernacle of Witness, Tumfure, in Akko Local Government, Rev. Christopher Godebe, who led prayers, urged God to shame the governor’s opponents, by granting him deserved victory, “to return to Government House in May, this year,” he said.
According to Godebe, “God please make the return of our governor easier and shame his opponents, let them all bury their faces in shame.”
On his part, Gombe State Governor Yahaya, appreciated the immense support, while urging the christian community collect their PVCs, noted that everyone has a responsibility to ensure peace.
“We should jealously guard this peace, harmony.For those that have not collected their PVCs, go and collect it. Choose wisely, play politics of development, peace and harmony,” Yahaya said.
Our Correspondent reports that Yahaya donated N15 million for the completion of projects in the Christian Association of Nigeria centre, also announced an additional N10m to both male and female groups, adding that efforts were on to expand water project across the state.
